Counselling at school is committed to providing a broad range of high quality, innovative and ethical issues that address the psychological, educational, social and developmental illness. Counselling involves empathy and good listening which helps the counsellor to understand and explore the problems, view them in varied perspectives and ultimately solve them through effective rapport building.
Today, we can help young people live more productive and fulfilling lives through programmes that include life skills education, mental health education, school based health interventions and when indicated, professional treatment.
Counselling Services
The counselling services at our school are intended to help students develop improved coping skills in order to address emotional, interpersonal and academic concerns. Our counselling center has trained professionals who prepare students through whatever issues they may need assistance with, whether it be academic issues such as transition to classes and peer group problems or mental health issues like anxiety and depression. There is a liason between students, teachers and parents.
Some students find that talking to a counsellor once is sufficient to resolve the immediate concern. Our services offer primarily short term counselling, but we do provide referrals to the community when students could benefit from longer term services.
