Evaluation & Assessment

The purpose of assessment is to ensure that learning goals set by the school have been met. It is our goal that all students can perform at their optimum level in the grade they are in, can move comfortably from one grade to the next, absorb the knowledge relevant to their grade, and can apply the said knowledge in future situations.

Class I – V

The assessment in the Primary Wing centers around the concept of continuous and comprehensive evaluation, where in the interactive forum between the teachers and students through out the session forms the basis of our evaluation. The academic curriculum is split into three terms with each term consisting of two cycles each. Fridays are earmarked for weekly tests of 25 marks each. Marks obtained by students form the basis of evaluating their performance. In addition grades are allotted for projects, activities, mental abilities, reading, recitation, composition, comprehension and communication skills through continuous and comprehensive evaluation. The performance of the child during the entire academic session contributes towards overall performance.

Class VI – X

The pattern of evaluation and assessment is based on the guidelines prescribed by the CBSE. There will be four Formative and two Summative Assessments during the academic year for classes IX & X. The children will be assessed through Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation. The grades will be allotted for group activities, projects, reading, recitation etc. Promotion to the next class will be the cumulative outcome of scholastic and co-scholastic achievements.
