Science Week

 Science has become an integral part of our lives. The subject is interesting and informative. In science, we learn about new things and it enhances our knowledge.

To sharpen the intellectual skills of budding scientists, Science Quiz was organized for classes III- V between 15th- 17th Nov’2016 in the Junior Auditorium. The quiz was divided into two phases. The preliminary round was conducted to select students(4) from each class for the final quiz.

The final quiz had various rounds like who am I, riddles, unscramble, Rapid fire etc to test the intellectual skills of the quizzers. The teams had put their best effort and there was a tough competition between them. Even the audience had a great time.

Participating in such activities make children more confident and ready with skills required for higher studies.

    SYNC 2016

    New Era Public School, Mayapuri  organized the fifth edition of Annual Inter-School Tech Fest SYNC on 19th Nov, 2016.  SYNC was started in 2012 under the guidance and blessings of Ms. Usha Chopra, Founder Principal and Director of New Era Public School, Mayapuri. SYNC provides a platform to a group of talented enthusiasts to express their technical and intellectual skills. This year “Multimedia Presentation” focussed on the simmering topic – “|Life – a Challenge or an Opportunity”. The other events included Anim Zone, Creative Event, Digital Imaging, Draped Chips and Book/Brochure cover..

    SYNC 2016 saw the participation of 18+ schools of Delhi/NCR and more than 200+ participants from class II onwards.

    SYNC 2016 started with the welcome ceremony of the participating schools and the esteemed panel of judges for multimedia contest that included Ms. Nilam Katara (Social activist) as Chief Guest, Mr. O.P. Chhatwal (Advisor, M/S Authbridge Research Services Pvt. Ltd), Mr. Subhash Tandon (Retd. ACP, Delhi Police), Ms. Nehal Nangia (Member, Advisor at Bersin by Deloitte), Ms. Swati Singh (Creative Head, Paramin Advertising) and Mr.Mohit Chawla (Tech Expert and graduate from Kings College, London)

    Draped Chips event was for classes II and III. Each participant had to be dressed up in the costume of an electronic gadget or appliance and spoke about the special features and utility of the gadget.

    Brochure/Book Cover event was for classes IV and V. Students worked with two softwares, MS Paint and MS Word. They were given a story, based on which they had to prepare a creative book cover.

    Anim Zone- The Flash Animation event was a competition for classes IX and X to give young budding IT freaks a platform to shower their IT skills and artistic thinking by creating an animated video on “Paralympics” and “Surgical Strikes”.

    Creative Event of Web Designing allowed students of class IX and X to show their talent and creativity by designing a website on “Educational Institution” and “E-commerce” using HTML, CSS or JavaScript.

    Digital Imaging was a Photoshop event for classes VIII to X. Participants prepared a collage on the topics “Cyber-Bullying” and “Morphing of two faces” showing several interesting things they dream of.

    SYNC saw the teamwork and sportsmanship of all participants. All the winners were felicitated at their respective event venues. St. Thomas School won the first position in Multimedia contest. Founder Principal and Director of New Era Public School, Ms. Usha Chopra and Principal of New Era Public School Ms. Vandana Chawla graced the occasion and motivated children to be part of such events irrespective of the fact whether they win or lose. Their presence was a great source of motivation for all the participants. In the end, Ms. Chopra expressed her gratitude to all the esteemed judges who spared their valuable time and graced the event and made it a grand success.
