Talent Hunt

A talent hunt was organized for classes I and II in the Primary Wing on 24th and 26th April, 2017. Students showcased their talents in a creative manner. The event was a treat to watch as the students performed with a lot of confidence and style. Whether it was a dholak or a tabla or even a casio, each act was unique. Some students used the hooplas with expertise; others performed magicians’ tricks while a few sang and danced on various songs. The students were very excited and happy to perform on stage. The audience too enjoyed watching a variety of acts.

                NATIONAL PROGRESSIVE SCHOOLS’ CONFERENCE


    New Era Public School Mayapuri hosted the National Progressive Schools’ Conference (NPSC) 2017 on April 26, 2017. The NPSC is a forty four year old association of senior secondary schools across the country and has 160 private schools as its members. It was started in 1973.  The Principals of many reputed schools all over Delhi registered their presence and participated in the conference on April 26. The school made elaborate arrangements for the guest Principals and other office bearers. It started with the meeting of the Executive members of the association, followed by the General Body Meeting. The school choir and band presented a Sufi rendition “Mitti da Pahalwan” which made a tranquil atmosphere in the auditorium. The Principals applauded the hospitality extended by the host school. The conference went on smoothly and was another successful endeavour of the school. The school takes pride in hosting such events which aim at the evolution of the education system and facilitate the initiatives of the stakeholders.

    THE 3rd R.L. CHOPRA MEMORIAL CRICKET TOURNAMENT 2017

     

    To establish and promote a sporting culture in the school, New Era Public School, Mayapuri organises various sporting events round the year. The school hosted its first sports event of the year- the 3rd R.L. Chopra Memorial Cricket Tournament from 10th April to 24thApril 2017. The tournament garnered keen interest from schools of Delhi/NCR.

    The tournament was inaugurated by the Guest of Honour, Mrs Usha Chopra (Director, New Era Public School, and Mayapuri). A total of 16 schools participated in the tournament. The matches were held at New Era Public School, Dwarka and Saraswati Farms, Bijwasan.

    In the finals of the keenly fought tournament Haryana Cricket Academy defeated Baba Haridas Cricket Academy and was declared the winner.

    All the matches were played intensely in the spirit of the game.

    Earth Day

    The Earth Day was celebrated in the Primary Wing - with various activities on 20th April, 2017. The aim was that students should be aware of the threats to our planet and take distinctive measures for “Saving the Earth”.

    Class I-My Earth

    Students drew pictures and made badges which they proudly pinned on their clean uniforms.

    Class II-My promise on my fingertips

    Students made one promise related to “Saving the Earth” on a cutout of their hands and decorated it, making a colourful hanging for all to see.

    Class III-Paper bag decoration

    Class III decorated paper bags in class emphasizing the fact that paper bags are better and more environment friendly than any other bags.

    Class IV-Best out of waste

    Class IV made useful items from waste products, stressing on reusing and recycling waste material.

    Class V -Poster Making

    Students of class V drew posters and wrote slogans related to “Earth Day” The students also visited other classes explaining the importance of following the three R`s-reduce, reuse and recycle.

     

    Special Assembly For Earth Day

    A special assembly was also conducted to celebrate “Earth Day” in the Primary Wing on 21st  April, 2017 .Students stressed upon a few things that children can do to make a difference. Students sang songs and performed a skit related to this. A pledge to Save the Earth was also taken by the students. Our Honorable Director “Mrs Usha Chopra graced the occasion. She urged the students to keep 2 important promises- not to use plastic bags and conserve water. She appreciated the efforts of the students.

      FOUNDER'S DAY

       


      An atmosphere of celebration filled the school campus when students and teachers gathered to celebrate the 57th Founder’s Day on 12th and 13th April 2017.

       

      To celebrate this occasion, an assembly was organised wherein students from classes I to XII participated with great enthusiasm. The school orchestra gave a melodious performance and the school's dance troupe displayed a fusion of various cultural performances.

       

      Mrs Usha Chopra, the founder Principal and director addressed the gathering and thanked all the teachers and students who have contributed to the growth of the institution. The chief aim of the school according to her is to actively develop the ambition and potential of every student, whether it is in academic or in any other sphere. The school believes that a student can achieve anything with focus, perseverance and confidence.

       

      The Principal, Mrs Vandana Chawla also addressed the gathering in the morning assembly and expressed her satisfaction for the way the school is progressing. She highlighted how the school not only participates in various campaigns such as the Can support, Food for hungry, etc but it also assumes the responsibility of working towards protecting the environment by introducing environmental policy and solar panels in the school.

       

      The day was celebrated with fervor, zest and enthusiasm in the school. An extravaganza of activities was conducted. All activities were designed to contribute towards an all-round development of young New Erians.

       

      Continuing with the festivities, everyone came together for the auspicious hawan ceremony on the next day.  This was followed by a series of entertaining performances which were ruminative of the traditions and ideals New Era Public School stands for.  From a soulful Sufi performance to the mindful mime act of Bollywood songs to all-encompassing rasas of life, everything came alive on stage and left the audience enthralled.








       


      Founder’s Day Activities

      A number of activities were organized on 12th April, 2017, in the Primary Wing to celebrate the Founder’s Day. It was a day of pride and joy for everyone. The students of classes I to V participated in the activities which showcased their love for the school.

      Class I and II used drawings as their medium of expression.   They drew and coloured pictures of the school garden, their classroom and the school play ground.

      Class III made book marks.These was beautifully decorated with beads and stars. A slogan, written by the students, showing their love for the school, adorned the bookmarks.

      Class IV worked in pairs and portrayed a glimpse of their future. They drew an impression as to how the school would have shaped their lives by the time they would be 18 years old.

      The students of class V composed acrostic poems on New Era Public School. The students used each alphabet of the school name to describe the incredible ways in which the school had influenced their lives.

      Prizes were given in each section for the 2 best attempts of the students

        World health day

        World health day was observed in the school on 7th April, 2017. The students of classes I, II and III wrote some points on an A4 sheet related to General hygiene. They pasted pictures and made drawings on the sheet.

        Students of classes IV and V worked in groups and made posters on the topic- ‘Ways to prevent dengue and malaria’

        They too made illustrations on their posters.
