Every year, as the academic session draws to a close it is time to say good bye to class XII. The Honours Ceremony is organized to award them for their proficiency in Academics and Co-curricular Activities. It is also an opportunity to appreciate and applaud their leadership qualities, their sincerity towards the assigned duties and their regularity in work. This year the Honours Ceremony was held on 27th January 2012.
The function began with the lighting of the lamp and an audio visual presentation. The Director, in her address, congratulated the students of class XII and urged them to never let go of the values imbibed in school.
The Prize Distribution which followed was the much awaited moment by the students and parents alike. As each section of class XII walked onto the stage with their class teachers they were welcomed with a warm applause. The academic and co-curricular achievers were rewarded with books and certificates for their achievements.
Following this, the Principal declared the Valedictorian of the Year – Shashwat Deepali Nagar and invited him to speak. Shashwat in his speech, said words of gratitude for the school, the teachers and all those who made the school experience a truly memorable one.
In her address, the Principal spoke to the students about the need to value time and become better as individuals with each passing day.
The patriotic dance number that followed was appreciated by one and all. The Grand Finale was the Candle Light Ceremony and as the Outgoing Student Council lit the candles of the new one, it symbolized the passing of the order. Those were solemn moments when the students walked silently to the soft strains of ‘ Lead Kindly Light’ rendered melodiously by their teachers.
It brought to an end another memorable day which will forever be cherished by the students of class XII and the proud parents who were there to share the glory.
