(The Lighting Of The Auspicious Lamp)
The New Era Old Student Association (NEOSA) organized a get-together on 5th Feb. 2011. It was attended by approx. 200 ex-students, many of them came in along with their spouses.
The evening was a mix of nostalgia and anticipation as old friends met and renewed ties. Excited alumni looked visibly happy to meet their teachers who welcomed them whole-heartedly.
The preparations for the function had been going on for months with great perseverance. Some alumni like Mr. Vivek Narang, Mr. Vivek Luthra, Ms. Sukriti Khurana left no stone unturned in ensuring that the maximum number attend the meet. The function commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the Director, Mrs. Usha Chopra and the Principal, Mrs. Vandana Chawla.
In her welcome address, the Director spoke warmly about the early days of New Era. She fondly recalled some of the students who were a part of that small group which made the beginning fruitful.
The Principal, Mrs. Vandana Chawla welcomed the guests warmly. Reminiscing the good old days she added mirth and humour when she referred to some interesting incidents.
The guests had some more interesting moments when some of them introduced themselves and promised to become more active members of NEOSA. The compere Ms. Sukriti Khurana and Mr. Vivek Luthra conducted some party games and thereafter everyone moved downstairs for some delectable eats. The day was clearly not over as everyone lingered on savouring the warm moments of fun and friendship.
This NEOSA Meet has set the ball rolling for future endeavours which will have greater participation and purpose.
It Has Stated Its Vision
- To promote the welfare and interests of the institution and its alumni.
- To organize social get togethers, excursions and cultural programmes at frequent intervals.
- To be a platform to interact with retired and senior teachers.
- Experts, professionals and dignitaries from among the alumni can provide assistance to the school through guest lectures, resource personnel and seminars.
- To provide a platform to expand and develop career opportunities. Members of the Association can offer career advice and job opportunities to the younger alumni.
- To organise community service programs.
