(The Director Giving Away A Prize)
The Annual Prize Distribution is organized every year to acknowledge the meritorious performance of students in academics, co-curricular activities and sports.
This year, the Annual Prize Distribution was held on 30th April and 1st May. It was a grand event and was celebrated as a tribute to all the people who have helped Delhi fulfill its destiny as the capital of the nation.
The students of classes VI-VIII were felicitated on Day 1, while the students of classes IX-XII were awarded on Day 2. Parents of award winners, who are ex-students of this institution were invited on the stage to give away the prizes.
Welcoming the audience, the Director spoke about the need of self discipline and how it alone can strengthen a person’s resolve and spirit. The Principal read out the Annual School Report and congratulated the students for their meritorious performance. She spoke about the need to be focused so that dreams can be realized.
On both days, the audience experienced a melodious rendering of music as the school choir – comprising of over 120 students from classes VI-XI presented our school song. These students displayed their feeling of pride as they sang together in perfect harmony – ‘Hum Hain New Era’.
This was followed by ‘Dillinama’, a play. This theatre production was a tribute to 100 years of Delhi (1911-2011) as the capital of the largest democracy in the world. The enigmatic array of characters created a portrait of a city with a monumental past and vibrant present.
An exhibition depicting the various shades of Delhi was also put up outside the auditorium. The happy faces of the award winners were definitely a sight to be seen.
