New Era Public School, Mayapuri celebrated its 30th Literacy Week under the aegis of Delhi Schools Literacy Project. This year marked the completion of  three  successful decades of  the school’s association with the project. The project was started to strengthen the national mission of education for all and has now evolved to empower the citizens to live a dignified life.

Mrs Usha Chopra, the Founder Principal and Director and the Principal Mrs Vandana Chawla inaugurated the event. The judges for the event were Mr Anoop Sengar, Mr Murari Maheshwari, and Dr Prabhat Kumar. All of them are eminent theatre personalities.

This year the school organised a drama competition. Students put forth their  diverse and progressive perspectives on issues like gender inequality, bullying, women empowerment, injustice meted out to minorities etc.  Springdales School, Pusa Road bagged the first position, followed by Gyan  Mandir  School, Naraina and Manav Sthali School, Rajinder Nagar respectively.

The event was a testimony to the steadfast commitment  of the school towards spreading literacy all over the country.

 

     

    The 7th R.L. Chopra Memorial Inter-School Quiz Festival- Qriosity was conducted on 18th and 21st  August 2018.  The festival saw the participation of 31 schools and more than 1000 students across Delhi in 6 events namely the General Quiz (Sr.),General Quiz (Jr.), Cadet Quiz, SPENT Quiz (Sports + Entertainment), India Quiz, and Sci-Biz-Tech Quiz. The occasion was graced by the founder Principal and Director Mrs. Usha Chopra and the Principal Mrs. Vandana Chawla.

    The ex-quizzers of New Era designed and conducted the quizzes. The energy level of all the participants was commendable.

    18 winning teams of three students each were felicitated with  cash prizes, individual trophies and certificates. The final result of the festival is as follows:

      New Era Public School marked the 72nd Independence Day of India by organising a special assembly on August 14, 2018. The ceremony began with the hoisting of the Indian tricolour by the founder Principal and Director, Mrs. Usha Chopra and the Principal Mrs.  Vandana Chawla. The assembly was a colourful and breathtaking montage of songs and dances on various patriotic melodies. The Director, in her address to the gathering, urged the students to become harbingers of national peace and prosperity. The Principal encouraged the students to keep their surroundings clean as this would be their own tribute to the independence which was handed down to them. The headmistress pointed out the grievous injuries caused to birds due to kite flying on Independence Day and urged students to be more sensitive to their surroundings. Throughout the day, the patriotic spirit was easily visible in the campus.


        New Era has always encouraged young athletes to pursue their sporting interests and provided them with the support needed.  

        The school hosted the 9th R.L Chopra Memorial Inter-School Table Tennis Tournament from 1st August to 4th August 2018. 28 schools and over 110 teams from all over Delhi- NCR participated in this tournament.

        The Director Mrs. Usha Chopra and the Principal Mrs. Vandana Chawla welcomed the senior officials, coaches and the players without whom this event wouldn’t have been such a great success. The tournament was declared open by Mrs. Chopra and Mrs. Chawla and they played a game with the players.

        The winners and runner up teams, from each category, were felicitated with a Trophy, set of table tennis balls, kit bags and certificates by Mrs. Usha Chopra and Mrs. Vandana Chawla. The coaches and officials also received a kit bag.

        At New Era, we build a character that empowers young minds to reach their potential and progress towards perfection and growth.
