New Era Public School participated in the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, launched by the Government of India, as part of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. Students from classes 1 to 12 came in good numbers to school on 13th August and displayed a terrific example of unity and patriotic spirit. A host of activities around the Indian Tricolour planned by the teachers for the students were being conducted for the past few days. Activities such as Slogan Writing, Drawing and Painting the Tricolour, Poster making etc, kept students busy throughout the week. All of this culminated on 13th August, as an energetic show was put up by the students of the Primary and Senior Wings. The special assembly began with flag hoisting by Headmistresses of Primary and Senior Wings-Mrs, Arati Mehta and Mrs. Neerja Bhaskar Anand accompanied by the National Anthem.
The junior choir set the tone with their patriotic rendition, followed by students from the primary wing, who evoked a sense of pride in the Tricolour in the students through their poetry. A small skit was presented by students of class X, to emphasise on the importance of the National Flag and encourage students to enthusiastically participate in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign. This performance was followed by a poem in Hindi and the National Song ‘Vande Mataram’. The event concluded with the headmistresses addressing the gathering. In their address, both the headmistresses emphasized the importance of the National Flag and stressed on the need for the new generation to build values like integrity and discipline.
Students and staff members were given their own flags to take home by the school. Everyone who witnessed and participated in the activities went home with a sense of pride and gratitude for being born in this great nation.
