Towards a Greener Tomorrow: Empowering Educators for Sustainable Change
On 18th April 2026, the school successfully conducted a Capacity Building Programme on Environmental Education and Conservation of Natural Resources, with the enthusiastic participation of teachers. The event was graced by Mrs Usha Chopra (Founder Director) and Mrs Vandana Chawla (Director Innovations). The workshop served as a meaningful step towards equipping educators with the knowledge and tools needed to nurture environmentally conscious learners. The resource persons for the session were Ms. Mona Lakhanpal and Ms. Ira Vishwakarma. The sessions explored vital themes such as environmental awareness, biodiversity, Air Quality Index (AQI), and ecosystem resilience, helping teachers connect these concepts with real-life contexts. The programme stood out for its engaging, activity-based approach. Participants took part in a case study discussion on environmental degradation and a hands-on activity to create a simple pollution catcher—both of which demonstrated practical ways to make environmental education interactive and impactful in classrooms. Emphasis was also laid on adopting sustainable practices within the school environment. Teachers were introduced to simple yet effective measures like waste segregation and responsible resource use, along with ideas to encourage eco-friendly habits among students. The inclusion of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) further broadened perspectives, linking classroom practices with global environmental responsibility. The workshop proved to be an enriching experience, inspiring teachers to integrate sustainability into their teaching practices and play an active role in shaping a greener, more responsible future.
