A two-day cultural extravaganza was organized by SPIC MACAY at New Era Public School on 19th and 20th August 2025 in Saraswati Hall, celebrating India’s diverse artistic heritage through mesmerizing performances by renowned artists. On Day 1, celebrated cellist, composer, and educator Vidushi Saskia Rao-de Haas, a visionary with accolades such as the prestigious Ridder in de Orde van Oranje Nassau, captivated the audience with her invention—the Indian cello. Her meditative performance beautifully blended Eastern and Western classical traditions, offering students a rare musical experience. Widely praised for her expressive artistry, Maestro Saskia’s music left an indelible mark on the audience. Day 2 featured eminent Kathak exponent Deepak Maharaj of the Kalka-Bindadin Gharana, accompanied by Shri Pranshu Chaturlal on tabla, Shri Jaywardhan Dhadhich on vocals and harmonium, and Janab Waris Khan on sarangi. Deepak Maharaj’s spellbinding performance, blending graceful movements and rhythmic brilliance, enthralled the gathering. His illustrious lineage and global stage presence made the dance saga inspirational for all present. The event fostered cultural appreciation and provided students with invaluable exposure to India’s artistic legacy.
